Run Da Traaaap!

If you’re new to the whole trapped out EDM movement that has blown up in recent months amongst the world, this mini-doc will get you LEARNED. The first episode of Certified Trap: The Documentary, running at a little over 20 minutes, is brought to us from ClubTapes, LiveMixTapes.com, and Diplo‘s Mad Decent imprint. Guest appearances include: Dirty South Joe, Southside, Daniel Disaster, Flosstradamus, Trap-A-Holics, Mike Will, Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, and more.

Just why IS trap music blowing up so much in the EDM scene?

The series has been developed to help educate the youth on the growing relationship between Southern Trap style and EDM styles. This episode explores the movement’s roots, explaining how signature drops and hooks crept on to the ever expanding EDM scene. What they don’t particularly emphasize is the fact that a majority of the movement has basically been lead by Jeffrees, a sub-label of  Mad Decent.

The amount of trap-influenced sounds in new music is increasingly doubling every day at the moment. Is the new movement of this sub-genre a fad? Whatever you want to call it, I seem to think that music is moving in a positive direction that it can only expand on with a unity of  Trap with EDM. In that regard, I warmly welcome getting lost in a trap.
